Add Facebook Recommendations Bar To Blogger

Facebook Recommendations barFinally the plugin I had been waiting for since 22nd September 2011. In order to engage readers more and let your visitors spend more time on your website Facebook has finally launched the "Recommendations Bar" in beta version. It's designed to display additional recommended articles right after readers have finished reading an article or spent some time on your blog. It will collapse on page load and expand once a reader has reached a specific location on your blog or finished reading the post. Only those articles are displayed that are previously liked or shared on Facebook. The number of likes are displayed under each article along with page title and a thumbnail. It also contains a like button and previously contained an Add to Timeline button that has been removed now. Unlike Facebook Recommendations box which offered related stories but with lack of user friendly interface and engagement, Facebook bar will force readers to stay longer on your site leading to increased pageviews, page impressions and thus traffic. It's a smart alternative to Recommended Post Slides widgets that we previously published.

How to insert images in Facebook Chat box?

insert images in Facebook Chat boxThe advent of Social Media has given a new scope when it comes to sharing emotions with loved ones. At this Stage where Social media, mainly Facebook, has taken the “must Have” status in our lives, it’s important to accept that no matter how great our love for Facebook is, it still provides limited features to its users when it comes to Facebook Chat. Now let us have a flashback of Windows Live Messenger. The chat there is what I call “an actual fun to have Chat”, where you can share images, use emotions, winks, can avail voice chat, etc. These days, when Facebook has taken up the entire Market in every way possible, Statistics show that the majority of the people have shifted from different chatting platforms to Facebook, neglecting the reality that the Facebook Chat holds no reference of sharing emotions ,Images, etc. We talked earlier in detail, how to give a new customized look to your Facebook Chat. However, what we didn’t discuss yet is the fact that you can insert images of your own choice in your Facebook Chat as well.

How to embed Facebook Video in Blogger or WordPress?

Embed Facebook Videos

Videos are great. They are so much faster than words, and so much better than images. People watch and share videos all the time. It is estimated that on YouTube, approximately 2 billion videos are being watched every day! And while you can easily share YouTube videos and embed them anywhere on the web, the same can't be said of Facebook videos. Facebook is another large platform where millions videos are being watched and shared daily. But sadly, Facebook does not provide any embed codes for sharing a video on a blog.

That leaves us with a problem. Neither can you share a video that you like on your blog, nor can people, who are not on Facebook, see a video you want them to see. But don't worry. As always, there is a solution to almost every problem. And for this problem, there are two. So let's see how you can embed Facebook videos to share on your blog.

Receive Email notification when someone unfriend you on Facebook?

Find out who unfriended you on Facebook

Have you even up some day and logged into Facebook to find that you're one friend short than you were yesterday? Some of you might not even notice this, but for others, it is a big deal. Before Facebook, people used to compete with each other on Google's Orkut for the most amount of scraps. Now, some people compete for friends (I did that too, once long ago :P). Competitions aside, every Facebook friend and fan is extremely important to marketers. While there's no shortage of people to befriend from Facebook's inventory of 901 million, it is important to retain the ones you already have.

These days, people tend to have friends in the hundreds. So if someone un-friends you, how would you know which of your 333 friends was it? Facebook doesn't send you any sort of notifications for this, nor do I think it ever has. So to track down that one deserter, you'll need a third party app called TwentyFeet. Now this app isn't like those scam apps we discussed in Facebook security tips, although there are some scams that will promise to track who unfriends you.

jCarousel Plugin- Scroll Images with jQuery in blogger

jcarousel image scroller

jCarousel is a jQuery plugin used widely for controlling list of items (both images, videos or text) in horizontal or vertical order. The items can be scrolled back and forth with animation. The carousel can be used either as image scroller or textscroller. It can be controlled externally with both JavaScript and AJAX and of course php. So it's a smart coded plugin that can be altered with all possible jquery functions. Its created by Jan Sorgalla and you can see several versions of here by visiting Sorgalla' website. To keep things simple we have filtered the code, compressed  it and made it as small as possible. You can easily customize it and install it on your BlogSpot blogs with just a single copy and paste of the code we would share today. You can use the same code to install it on any blogging platform may it be Joomla, wordpress or even a Static HTML website. Lets get to work now:

The idea of creating a blog and earning money from it might have been considered 'thinking outside the box' a few years ago. But as of now, it is residing deep inside the box. Hence, the need of a change of perspective, or mindset if you will.

CodeLobster: The Perfect PHP Development Tool

CodeLobster is a perfect PHP tool for developers who love to code and test. A complete framework with excellent 24/7 Customer service and support. Building PHP Applications was never that easy!
Codelobster a perfect php editor

PHP is one of the most widely used programming scripts. It is the same language that gave birth to Facebook and your beloved Wordpress. Content Management systems and ecommerce websites are built largely with PHP. I really enjoy writing and testing algorithms. PHP is enjoyable as long as you are using the right tool else its all of a headache and tasteless consuming language. While developing my recent university project which was based on "Online Mobile Marketplace " I badly felt the necessity of built-in PHP and JavaScript functions. It is really difficult to code every single function out of scratch unless you use a handy tool to code fast and efficiently. I used various online free PHP editors but their Syntax Highlighting, intellisense and debugger sucked so bad that  I had almost made up my mind to switch to a different project. But then a fellow friend who is a freelance developer suggested that I should try Codelobster PHP Edition.

Facebook Music: Listen To Music With Your Friends While Chatting

Music on Facebook
Facebook gives you a lot of features to socialize with your friends and family. It is said that music is one of the most powerful ways to connect with others. Be that as it may, music is also the most fun way to connect with your buddies. People enjoy music in real life when they are alone, but not as much as they enjoy it when they're with their friends. Since Facebook is all about sharing real life events, what if you could share your music-listening experiences with others as well? And we're not talking about posting YouTube links on your wall here.

The tutorial today will help you to create a beautiful expandable and collapsible huge button that will display comment form by sliding down smoothly when triggered and hide it when clicked again. We will be using simple jquery functions to enable a button to  show/hide all div sections that hold the comments box.

But in any case, if you're one of these people, then you might want to preserve some of your most important information before saying goodbye to Facebook. Even after quitting Facebook, you can still use some of the features it provides, so you wouldn't really feel left out.

What are Google Places for Business? How it connects Local Customers?

Google Places

According to Google, 97% of the customers look for local businesses online. Another fact has it that 73% of online activity is related to local content. Since Google is the only search giant that boasts of a 66% share in the market, we can only assume the facts are true. But true or not, they must be based on some sound basis, which is good enough for me. Now this throws new light on how important online promotion can be for small local business.

Google helps such local businesses by providing them a way to reach out to their customers through Google Places. Previously, we talked about how Google Pages help promote businesses. Formerly known as Google Local Business, Google Places aims at drawing local business towards Google to promote their services, since Google is the search giant and most people search on Google. Hence, this is a great opportunity for business owners to promote their services n Google and attract more customers.

Google Explains The Difference Between Google Plus, +1 Button & Search

Google Plus

Google+ is the most recent player in the social networking field. Google+ is a lot more than just a social networking website. The +1 button isn't just another Like button, as you will see later in this post. 10 Alternatives to Fiverr : Make Up to $25 per Gig!

top 10 fiverr alternatives to help you make more moneyFiverr originally started out as a new and very unique concept. There were only the big freelancing websites like Elance and Freelancer etc back then. So Fiverr brought a very refreshing change. Whether you are a proper freelancer or just a regular office-going guy, Fiverr gives you a chance to earn some quick bucks so you can cover up your extravagances. Fiverr is also a great place to get your freelancing career started. But the trouble is, Fiverr only allows you to earn $5 minus their commission per gig. For some people, this might not be enough. Luckily for them, many alternative websites to fiverr have emerged over the years. Fiverr was such a success that many others adopted the idea and came up with their own version of Fiverr. Most of these aren't very good, but some might just be better than Fiverr! So here, we will discuss about the top 10 alternatives to fiverr you must try.

Flipper Sharing Widget

flipper sharing widget
Two years ago we released a simple sharing widget using the flapper Icon set. We made use of CSS sprites in order to make the roll over effect more quick and effective. Now when we have already taught most of you how to apply CSS3 transitions, its time to apply them in a different way. I just designed two additional flapper icons for Pinterest and Google Plus and now this new version has several benefits over the previous. The Icons rotate vertically and flips upon mouse hover. The time taken by the effect is so small that the user rarely notices image shift. We will be releasing some more social media icons in coming days with some unseen CSS3 effects to let you take the full bliss of animation without using jquery. Please see a demo first:

10 Best Websites to Find Jobs Worldwide

10 websites to find jobs
Jobs these days are incredibly difficult to find. Perhaps that's why many people are now looking into making jobs for themselves; self-employment in other words. Indeed, you'd be lucky to even find a decent paying office job these days. And even luckier if you could get one in your home city near your own home. That's more or less a thing of the past now. And the reason for that is, competition has grown up, while the number of jobs hasn't. Also, there's a somewhat lack of efficiency in the process of finding a job. Not everyone gets a job they are best suited for.

The solution then, is a good platform that can connect all the relevant people. Fortunately, there are many, but here, we will talk about the best 10 such job websites worldwide. These websites will help you find a job, and make a better living, online or otherwise.

Add jQuery .slideToggle() effect in a Drop Down Menu

jquery animationJquery is a beautiful library of JavaScript that has inflated a new life in web technology.  Websites today largely use jQuery to create gadgets and designs that were impossible in past. Unlike CSS3 and HTML5, jquery is supported by all major browsers including IE8+.  The functionality that we will learn today is called Jquery Slide Toggle effect. It enables you to control the speed elements which respond on mouse hover. If you move your mouse towards the drop down menu (at top) on this blog, you will observe that the column drops smoothly and slowly. It first slides down and then expands to its full width. We will use one simple function to introduce this animation in its simplest form. It is .slideToggle(). This animates the drop down list and produces a beautiful effect.

z-index: Send an HTML element to Back or bring to Front

what is z-index propertyOne of the major problems people facing while designing HTML layouts using CSS is the overlapping issue. CSS positioning lets you position an HTML object anywhere you like. You can locate an object anywhere you like but it involves great care. By using the CSS positioning attributes like absolute, fixed or relative you often come across a problem where on object overlaps another or blocks the view of another section. In order to bring one div section on front or back of another you will need to use z-index property of CSS. Just like in Adobe Photoshop CS5, z-index lets you to send an element to back or bring it to front. In todays' tutorial we will aim at explaining this property briefly and with clarity.

Add CSS3 Transition effect To a Drop Down Menu

CSS3 TRANSITION EASE-IN-OUTEver since The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) introduced CSS3 and HTML5, websites, content management systems and online web tools  took a whole new shape. Classic and traditional layouts created using tables no more exists and today we play with well developed style properties to better control the positioning of objects. In our previous post we learnt how to add a drop down menu list to a horizontal menu and in earlier posts you learnt in detail how to create menus but today we will play with the structure we created and will add cool ease-in-out effects. Ease-in-out effect is an interesting property that lets you control the display using a timer. This along with some other attributes made animation in CSS3 possible. With ease-in-out we can add soft mouse hover effect to the navigation menus. Whether you may be a Blogger user or Wordpress, todays' post will give a new look and easing touch to your menu.
