How to Cast your Vote in US elections With Google?

So the U.S presidential race is a full swing, and expectations are high as the election day arrives. Different people have different ways of keeping track of the race, and so do many websites which provide varying data on who has the most support. But every term (four years), more and more people are looking for reliable sources of information on the voting process and their ballots. Google has now made this incredibly easy, and searching for such information is no longer a hitch. It has launched a Voter Information Tool that will help voters stay updated about the elections.

The Voter Information Tool is designed to help people find information on how to register for voting, where to vote, and who's on their ballot. So on the election day that is 6th November, whether you are supporting Romney or Obama (again), you won't be left out of anything, and will get all the help you'll need from Google.

Google Voter Information Tool

You can use the Voter Information Tool to enter your address (US only). You will instantly find information on what your polling place will be, along with early vote locations. You can also get ballot information, complete with links to the social media profiles of the candidates. Rules and requirements can also be looked up using this tool.

This is a really useful tool for voters, and webmasters and bloggers can embed the tool easily on their own websites / blogs. Here are the instructions from Google on how to embed the tool. The tool is open source as well, which means developers can download the code and customize it as they see fit.

Google is working with some media partners such as AT&T and Foresquare to make this tool accessible across the web. So you can expect to see more of it in the days leading up to the election. And hopefully, it will help make the entire process simpler and much easier. Cheers to the future U.S. president :)

  4. I totally agree with Syed Faizan Ali.I got to say this once upn a time MBT was a mentor but that tag now goes to My blogger lab.Syed really gives out some awesome widget. MBT stick to your blogging topic. And Qasim you are ruining MBT !

  6. Totally disagree with Faizan and Kapse. MBT people are very smart they very tactfully used two widely searched keywords "Google" and "US election" to arouse the interest of their huge target audience from India and Pakistan where both countries are nearing their general polls so their interest on poll matters is obvious. In this way this article has not twin but quardruple blades of effectiveness as I mentioned above. It is necessary to avail the benefits of hot running keywords. Its proof is that John Chow has used in his latest article the keyword "superstorm sandy" though he runs a technology blog.
Secondly MBT is trend setter in Asia on a blog on blogging and nearly ninety percent blogs on this subject are admittedly inspired by it.So it is quite premature to compare it with any new blog - regardless of whoever runs it. Despite all of above I respect the viewpoint of you two guys.

  7. Heats flaring up huh.. I thought I would just step in...

    @Syed
What promise you are talking about not commenting anymore?? Why would you do so??

@Syed, @Tanmay and other such people

You don't know what MBT & Mohammad has done for you and other similar bloggers behind the scenes. What you see is just what you see.. You never known what happens behind. You guys grew watching MBT and now you say MBT is nothing??? Sorry Mohammad, how I can shut my mouth after hearing that.

As far as relevance of the content is concerned, MBT is NOT solely for widgets, themes, etc. It is deeply into Blogging and SEO and if you see, the recent posts are on Blogging and SEO, so MBT is not going off the track.

There is a few bunch of bloggers who are looking for widgets and themes and I guess MBT has provided them and they are still visible in search results but what about the other bunch of people who want to know more about SEO and Blogging??? Is it not our responsibility to serve them as well??

    Now about Qasim..

One question here.. Do you want to learn and read the posts or do you want to take that person, who wrote the post, on a date?? Would you ever think who wrote if Qasim suddenly popped up with a great widget. Sorry to be harsh but this is simply ridiculous and it hurts... It hurts the writer who gave in his precious time simply to hear Qasim is running MBT and not Mohammad... You are indirectly insulting him which I won't tolerate. You guys have forgotten that MBT is run by a team and NOT JUST BY ONE PERSON. It's the effort of whole team dammit and Qasim is a part of that team.

I won't ever keep my mouth shut if I see someone is doubting MBT's potential.

Buddy! I Promised Mohammad Bro To give a Comment on Each and Every Article that is published on MBT. I Tried my best but, The BLOG MY BLOGGER TRICKS From its name you can guess that it must be related to ONLY "BLOGGER" but ultimately you see some posts that aren't really should be there.

I Do Admire Wishes and Islamic Anointment Articles.

But a Person Cannot Compromise on his quality for the sake of publishing articles on daily basis.

I know Mohammad bro already knows that he had lost lots of potential followers due to irrelevant content.

The only reason why I am poping out is that, "I Can't see MBT Having such articles that aren't helping because this was the place where I Sperm from in the Blogosphere". You Fight,You argue but in the end "You return to your mother Home Land".

@Qasim Is one of my first Blogger Friend So I know he is not the one who should be blamed or etc. Because not a Single articles on this blog could be published without the permission of ADMIN. THOSE Who think Qasim bro likes posting irrelevant content that there is a Big NO.

I Admire all other comments... The reason is that MBT has become a PRO Blog and now the exception is high!.....

Sorry! If I Hurt Someone. Peace and Blessings For ALL

  11. @Bhavesh Pamecha Hello! Thanks for watching out for us, greatly appreciate it :P

And now, to the issue at hand.

First of all, for those who think we're going off-track, well let me ask you, how many posts from the past few days are unrelated? In this new spell of mine on MBT, I haven't written any off-topic post. As far as this particular post is concerned, let me remind you of a few things.

This topic has been carefully chosen through keyword research to serve those who are looking for elections. It's just as our dear friend @Mi Muba put it.

Secondly, it is related to Google, and Google (and other such internet companies) is what we are here to talk about.

Thirdly, @Faizan Ali, if you read carefully, the post has a part where it says webmasters can embed this tool on their websites, so that they can take advantage of the large number of people looking for voting information, and also serve their regular readers. Unrelated, huh? Bro, I respect your opinion, and I know I might be in the wrong too. But please don't judge a book by its cover (or a blog post from its title).

And another thing, if you keep on writing about widgets and stuff, don't you think it'll get a bit too monotonous? Give me an example of one good blog that doesn't deviate from topic once in a while, especially a blog that has good SERP ranking and a large number of followers. Off-topic posts help give your website a boost, and gives the readers something out of the ordinary. You can try it for yourself on your own blog.

Good day, and thanks again @Mi Muba and @Bhavesh Pamecha, you guys rule :)

Some people thought I am not on MBT anymore but I am always keeping an eye on MBT activity, it doesn't matters if I comment or not. I just kept my comment frequency down thinking that I will just speak when it is necessary.

Now about the post, even if it is off-topic I would have appreciated that and I do encourage you to write off-topic sometimes because off-topic is good to keep in check that the readers don't get bored with the same field of posts. A good example is Mohammad's Coin Story post which did very well. And yes I am not talking about regional off-topic posts. You gotta cover the majority of the world.

I though have one suggestion. Whenever you write an off-topic post, please add some humor in that to keep the readers fresh. This won't give time to the reader to think that this is an off-topic post ;)

    @Syed Faizan Ali
If you are judging MBT by the domain name than John Chow must have been a personal blog rather than a money making blog.

I agree that expectations from MBT are very high and Mohammad knows very well what to do.

Let the King decide when he returns from exams :p

  13. o.O Well It's Your Blog So You can do Whatever you want! It was my Suggestion, Its not about off-topic articles or Chats but the quality of a website and the image MBT has. You can see youself how many people are commenting and chatting. All Commentors comments for the sake of getting a backlinks. Most comments are totally SPAM...

@QASIM Dude A Geek Never Get Bored of Widgets, If you are then you must know that. He is always hungry for the new Tips and techniques. You can do a Poll about widgets, I Bet no one will say that they are bored...

....One last thing you said you curate content on the basis of keywords! Thats weird because I Though you Write for Readers Not for Search Engines....Well this argue is useless because MBT is not my property...Blessings! for every one

    ReplyDelete
  14. @Syed Faizan Ali bro searching for keywords means looking at what people are currently searching, and what the latest trends are. And also, what keywords are most searched etc. It has nothing to do with search engines

    ReplyDelete
  15. Dude what you have said is correct. However, in Other Words We call it Writing for Search Engines... Writing only those article which users are searching...Its good to write few off topic articles to attract quick readers... ;).. Peace
